Branch Civil, Inc. is searching for a Heavy Equipment Technician Apprentice to join the team!
Duties/Responsibilities
The Roanoke-based Heavy Equipment Technician Apprenticeship provides apprentices with the on-the-job and classroom training hours required to earn their heavy equipment technician journeyman’s card, which has reciprocity in other states.
Over the course of four years, the apprentices will learn through a blend of in-house training, John Deere University, CAT University, LinkedIn courses, and the 16-week Virginia Western welding program. In total, they’ll receive 2,000 hours of on-the-job training and 144 hours of instruction in the classroom per year.
Qualifications
- This program is open to those who are 18 years old or older (no previous experience required).
- Apprentices will be paid an hourly rate during on-the-job training.
- The company provides learning materials.
- Each apprentice will be assigned a mentor to oversee training and development.
- Upon completion of the four-year program, the apprentice will receive their journeyman’s card.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Office days and hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Work hours may include occasional nights and weekends which may include overnight stays.
