Medium Voltage
Level I - Demonstrate knowledge of the various components of the medium voltage distribution system including transformers, padmount switchgear, underground distribution systems, overhead lines, and switching stations.
Level II - Assist with the installation and repair of the campus primary electrical distribution systems (12470V/4160V) including padmount transformers, padmount switchgear, underground distribution systems, and switching stations.
Level II - Assist with predictive and preventive maintenance, repair and construction of overhead lines and poles, circuit switching equipment, fuses, and pole mount transformers.

Electrical Construction
Level I - Assist with the layout and installation of electrical conduit systems consisting of rigid steel, electrical metal tubing, non-metallic conduit (PVC) and concrete encased ductbank.
Level II - Layout and install electrical conduit systems consisting of rigid steel, electrical metallic tubing, non-metallic conduit (PVC) and concrete encased ductbank with supervision.
Level III - Layout and install electrical conduit systems consisting of rigid steel, electrical metal tubing, non-metallic conduit (PVC) and concrete encased ductbank with limited supervision.
Level III - Installation of campus site lighting and systems including walkways, streets, parking lots and other outdoor areas with limited supervision.
Level II - Assist with the layout and installation of overhead distribution systems consisting of wood pole, cross-arms, insulators, guy wires, conductors, fuses, and surge arrestors.
Level III - Layout and install overhead distribution systems consisting of wood pole, cross-arms, insulators, guy wires, conductors, fuses, and surge arrestors with supervision.
Electrical Systems Maintenance
Level I - Assist with the maintenance, repair, and replacement of electrical equipment and apparatus including single and three phase motors, starters, fused and non-fused disconnect switches, panelboards, switchgear, and circuit breakers.
Level I - Assist with the maintenance, repair, and replacement of outdoor campus lighting systems including pole mounted light fixtures, photocells, poles, bases and wiring.
Level I - Assist with traffic safety and temporary traffic control for work in and along campus roadways.
Level II - Read, understand plans/specifications, and apply them to work in the field.
Level II - Perform maintenance, repair, replacement of electrical equipment and apparatus including single and three phase motors, starters, fused and non-fused disconnect switches, panelboards, switchgear, and circuit breakers with supervision.
Level II - Perform maintenance and repair of outdoor campus lighting systems including pole mounted light fixtures, photocells, poles, bases and wiring with supervision.
Level II - Assist with troubleshooting and repair of traffic signal equipment including pedestrian push buttons, signal heads, detection systems, and control cabinets.
Level III - Perform maintenance, repair, replacement of traffic signal equipment including pedestrian push buttons, signal heads, detection systems, and control cabinets with supervision.
Level III - Perform maintenance and repair of outdoor campus lighting systems including pole mounted light fixtures, photocells, poles, bases and wiring with limited supervision
Codes and Regulations
Level I - Demonstrate basic knowledge of topics covered in the National Electrical Code (NEC).
Level I - Demonstrate basic knowledge of topics covered in the NFPA 70E.
Level II - Demonstrate ability to apply National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements to applicable field work on cable protection and equipment grounding.
Level II - Demonstrate ability to apply NFPA 70E guidelines for Arc Flash safety.
Level II - Demonstrate basic knowledge of topics covered in the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC).
Level III - Demonstrate ability to apply National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) requirements to applicable field work for overhead line clearances.
General Duties
Ensures work is performed in compliance with safety, building, fire, hazardous and other applicable codes, and regulations.
Knowledge of AIM or comparable Work Order Tracking System and ability to enter data as needed.
Works and communicates well with supervisor, customer, and coworkers.
Cross-trains in Electrical Maintenance.
