On-the-job Training

• Cleaning/Preparing work surfaces
• Applying Mortar
• Installing Masonry Materials
• Mix cement, sand, and water to produce concrete
• Mold expansion joints and edges
• Remove excess mortar with trowels and hand tools
• Wet surface to prepare for bonding, fill holes and cracks
• Utilize an array of hand and power tools to cut components for installation
• Safely remove worn, damaged or outdated materials
• Utilize ladders to work safely from heights. Erect Scaffolds.
• Install sidewalks, curbs, simon, and wood forms
• Apply material to fill gaps in surfaces.
• Build forms or wooden molds
• Construct corners
• Cut tile, stone, or other masonry materials.
• Fasten or fuse brick
• Measure materials or objects for installation or assembly
• Mix substances or compounds needed for work activities.
• Spread concrete or other aggregate mixtures.
• Apply decorative masonry finishes.
• Apply hardening and sealing compounds
• Apply muriatic acid to clean surface.
• Assists in adjusting utility structures
• Break up rock, asphalt, or concrete.
• Drill holes in construction materials.
• Lay and align bricks, blocks, or tiles
• Operate power vibrator
• Prepare surfaces for finishing.
• Produce rough concrete surface
• Push roller over surface to embed chips in surface.
• Signal truck driver to position truck
• Smooth surfaces with abrasive materials or tools.
• Sprinkle colored marble or stone chips, powdered steel, or coloring powder
• Wet concrete surface, and rub with stone to smooth surface
• Read blueprints or drawings
