On-the-job training
Supervise school or student activities
Assist in bus loading and unloading.
Maintain consistent activity and student engagement.
Clean facilities or work areas
Assist in maintaining a safe and sanitary room/playground environment.
Display student work
Organize and label materials and display students’ work in a manner appropriate for their eye levels and perceptual skills.
Monitor student performance
Instruct and monitor students in the use and care of equipment and materials to prevent injuries and damage.
Teaching physical education
Conduct demonstrations to teach skills, such as sports, dancing, and handicrafts.
Collaborate with other teaching professionals to develop educational programs
Discuss assigned duties with classroom teachers to coordinate instructional efforts.
Distribute instructional or library materials
Distribute teaching materials, such as textbooks, workbooks, papers, and pencils, to students.
Distribute tests and homework assignments and collect them when they are completed.
Maintain student records
Observe students’ performance, and record relevant data to assess progress
Assist with homework, tests, and the recording of results
Teach daily living skills or behaviors
Assist in the teaching of social skills
Collaborate with other staff members to maintain a sense of community among the students and families.
Assist with clearly defining behavior expectations and the implementation of strategies that minimize problem behaviors.
Plan educational activities
Organize and supervise games and other recreational activities to promote physical, mental, and social development
Tutor and assist children individually or in small groups to help them master assignments and to reinforce learning concepts presented by teachers.
Operate audiovisual equipment
Operate and maintain audio-visual equipment
Enforce rules or policies governing student behavior
Assist in the observation of administration policies and rules governing students.
Maintain computer equipment or software
Assist students with the proper use of computers, hardware, and software.
Lead classes or community events
Present subject matter to students under the direction and guidance of teachers, using lectures, discussions, supervised role-playing methods, or by reading aloud.
Develop instructional materials
Assist in the preparation, and development of various teaching aids, such as bibliographies, charts, graphs.
Assist in the preparation of lesson materials, bulletin board displays, exhibits, equipment, and demonstrations.
