  • Plan and prepare each operation of the production
  • Review blueprints or written specifications for a job
  • Calculate where to cut or bore into the work piece
  • Select tools and materials for the job
  • Plan the sequence of cutting and finishing operations
  • Set the controls, and make the cuts
  • Monitor the feed rate and speed of the machine
  • Ensure that the work piece is being properly lubricated and cooled
  • Use both simple and highly sophisticated measuring tools to check accuracies
  • Work with CNC control programmers on CNC programs
  • Maintain a safe working environment _ OHSA education
  • Perform maintenance work„repairing making adjustments to existing machinery
