  • Photography Skills
    • Creativity and outside-the-box thinking in studio and on location.
    • Acquire props and product samples, plus order and return stock product.
    • Assist in scheduling, organization, and preparing photo requests for multiple shoots.
    • Load and unload film.
    • Photograph subject material to illustrate or record scientific/medical data or phenomena, using knowledge of scientific procedures and photographic technology and techniques.
  • Photo Editing / Printing
    • Determine desired images and picture composition; and select and adjust subjects, equipment, and lighting to achieve desired effects.
    • Develop and print exposed film, using chemicals, touch up tools, and developing and printing equipment, or send film to photofinishing laboratories for processing.
    • Knowledge and understanding of image resolution per print/digital display/sizing.
    • Enhance, retouch, and resize photographs and negatives, using airbrushing and other techniques.
  • Lighting & Posing
    • Ability to select and set up lighting equipment to include flood and spotlights.
    • Understand lighting effects, directions, and backgrounds per various photo subjects.
    • Ability to select and utilize props to achieve creative design.
    • Adjust apertures, shutter speeds, and camera focus based on a combination of factors such as lighting, field depth, subject motion, film type, and film speed.
    • Create artificial light, using flashes and reflectors.
    • Estimate or measure light levels, distances, and numbers of exposures needed, using measuring devices and formulas.
  • Tools and Equipment
    • Demonstrates knowledge of types of cameras and uses.
    • Demonstrates knowledge of filters, lenses, and uses.
    • Proper cleaning and upkeep of tools and equipment used.
  • Professionalism
    • Proper workplace safety practices.
    • Able to work well with others from various backgrounds; respectful.
    • Able to receive and apply construction criticism and feedback from peer(s) and supervisor(s).
    • Collaborate with Design Media Specialist and Social Media Specialist.
    • Adaptable to challenging, fast pace, unstructured environment.
