Safety
Safely operate non-emergency medical unit, transporting patients to a variety of locations
Assists with daily cleaning and inventorying of emergency equipment, supplies, fluids, administration sets and drug
Decontaminate ambulance interior following treatment of patient with infectious disease, and report case to proper authorities.
Maintain medical services vehicle and supplies
Cleaning and maintaining ambulance, equipment, station house and premises.
Reports facility maintenance, radio, vehicle and equipment problems to appropriate level of authority.
Assists with daily cleaning and inventorying of emergency equipment, supplies, fluids, administration sets and drugs.
Communication and Critical Thinking
Accurately record services provided on required forms
Knowledge of county geography and locations of roads and streets
Respond quickly and calmly in emergencies and stressful situations
Maintain confidentiality of patient contact
Work with co-workers, law enforcement personnel, fire, medical personnel, patients and the general public
Knowledge of intravenous therapy and skill in recognizing adverse conditions
Provide basic medical aid and patient care
Immobilize patient for placement on stretcher and ambulance transport, using backboard or other spinal immobilization device.
Administer first aid treatment or life support care to sick or injured persons in prehospital setting
Perform emergency diagnostic and treatment procedures, such as stomach suction, airway management, or heart monitoring, during ambulance ride.
Monitor patient progress or responses to treatments .
Basic life support to patients during transport between medical facilities, following discharge, or medical appointments.
Provide life support care, such as CPR.
Treatment of minor wounds including bandaging, antiseptic, and reinforcement.
Assess nature and extent of illness or injury to establish and prioritize medical procedures.
Interact with patients to build rapport or provide emotional support .
Observe, record, and report to physician the patient's condition or injury, the treatment provided, and reactions to drugs or treatment.
Completes necessary records and reports for emergency calls including information for billing documentation, and legal accountability.
