Health and nutrition
Assures implementation of child screenings within required timeframes based upon age of child and Head Start Performance Standards
Assures meals and meal attendance are in accordance with Child Care Licensing and USDA’s CACFP and Department of Education guidelines
Engages in reflective discussions with families related to health and development status of child to promote timely health care in accordance with EPSDT schedule
Assures ongoing follow-up and related documentation in a timely manner related to unmet health outcomes
Models healthy eating habits and tooth brushing
Models physical activity by being physically active
Assures cleaning, sanitation, and disinfectant procedures are followed to promote healthy habits within classroom environment
Partners with families supporting parent-child relationships and promoting parents as first and most important teachers
Actively outreaches to parents for involvement with curriculum planning, including creating individualized curriculum and classroom goals
Demonstrates respectful interest in learning about each family’s values, beliefs, faith traditions, cultural influences, family structure, and circumstances
Assures required parent education topics are being addressed through a variety of individual and group strategies through collaboration with Family Services Coordinator
Engages parents in classroom and individualized curriculum discussion to establish effective home school connection and facilitates on-site and take-home parent-child activities, emphasizing connections to school readiness

Supports families in crisis by identifying options and resources in collaboration with Family Services Coordinators
Program involvement, leadership, advocacy, and social connections
Plans, coordinates, and or/ facilitates Parent Committee Meetings emphasizing a connection to Policy Council in collaboration with region staff
Actively recruits and promotes parent participation on C&FS sponsored enrichment activities, community events, and the Policy Council to increase opportunities for family networking and awareness of resources
Provides parents with orientation and philosophy of program and services provided
Collaborates with parents to conduct outreach and provide resources to Family Friend and Neighbor caregivers involved with children
Contributes to the development and/or distribution of newsletters
Practice safe working habits and contribute to a safe and peaceable workplace
Assures all interactions are cooperative, respectful, and support KVCAP’s Workplace Violence Policy
Assures the creation and implementation of Safety Plans
Assures personal safety and actively communicates with team and supervisor

Assures required emergency procedures are practiced and communicated with families
Promotes protective factors to prevent child abuse and neglect; identifies and refers families to the Department of Health and Human Services Child Protection Services
